MXR Dyna Comp

The MXR Dyna Comp is possibly the most popular compressor designed for guitar. It's been cloned many times over by pedal companies and used on plenty of albums. Our modifications for the pedal cover a wide range of common complaints and this pedal can be modified to either replicate the old, classic tones of the past or be modified to be a transparent, modern compressor.
The Dyna Comp has a very distinct tone based around a strong mid-range. The Hi-Fi Mod for the Dyna Comp yields a clear high end and more low-end to give a more neutral tone. This allows your guitar's original sound to come through.
If you like the tonal change of the Dyna Comp then the Ross Mod is a very popular alternative to the Hi-Fi mod. It retains the strong midrange of the pedal in stock form but also has a few technical changes to optimize the circuit. The modification takes the original Ross Compressor schematic and applies those changes to the similar Dyna Comp circuit. This mod does not involve changing the IC; If your Dyna Comp does not have the classic CA3080 IC then that chip will not be installed as part of this mod.
The Recovery Knob allows you to change the time in which the compressor releases after the initial compression. The knob allows you to increase or decrease the time from the stock setting. This is great for dialing in the right sound for fast picking to slow strumming.
The Dying Battery Mod is a small trimpot installed inside the pedal on the circuit board to sag the voltage. This emulates a dying battery which can sound better in pedals like a compressor and is similar to the Sag feature found on the Voodoo Lab Pedal Power.
