Maestro PS-1A Phase Shifter
Requests for our Maestro rehousings have become so popular that we've decided to put up a dedicated page for them. The Maestro PS-1A is a popular phase shifter designed for keyboards but has found a home on many guitar player's pedalboards. This pedal sounds amazing but it has many shortcomings for a modern musician. First of all, it is massive. The original casing comes in around 11" wide and 9" front to back. The rehoused enclosure is around 7.5" x 4.5". The rehoused model also has metal stompswitches rather than plastic rocker switches and has an LED to indicate which setting is active. The input and output jacks are reversed to follow the standard practice of placing the input jack on the right and output on the left. The pedal is also converted to run on an external 24V DC power supply rather than plugging directly into the mains. The end result is a pedal that sounds exactly the same as it did in its stock form but now in a smaller, more convenient package.
Modifications such as installing an input buffer to prevent signal loading due to its low input impedance, converting to true bypass, and installing a depth knob are also optional for rehoused pedals.
